“The constant integration of the passions of golf and medicine are the essence of our tournament, and the enjoyment of the participants is our reward, with more than 100 players and the constant moments of joy experienced on the course, showed us that it is something that we cannot stop doing,” said Rafael Arturo Fernandez, director of the League and organizer of the event.

On this occasion the classic tournament was dedicated to Dr. Angela Ines Gonzalez Calanga, for her more than 40 years of profession as the first female ophthalmologist retinologist in the Dominican Republic, and recognized the pediatrician Mariano Rodriguez Carbuccia, based in the city of La Romana, for his more than four decades of service to the community, which have earned him other recognitions such as Distinguished Son of La Romana.

Special recognition also went to Dr. Gustavo Rojas Lara, cardiologist and co-founder of Tortugolf, who is a reference in medicine and golf, instilling devotion to others in his environment and family. He already has a doctor/golfer son and a golfer grandson, creating transcendence in this discipline.
